A visual timer for kids
“Five more minutes” does not mean much to a kid. A big number counting down does. Super Easy Timer turns time into something kids can watch, on the family Mac or the classroom display.
Big digits, nothing else
Take the timer full screen and the screen shows one thing: how much time is left. No menus on display, no ads, nothing to tap. Kids see the number shrink and understand the deal.
Fast enough for real life
Type “10 min” while the argument about screen time is still warming up. Press Return and the countdown is the referee. A bare number works: “5” means 5 minutes.
The end is obvious
At zero the timer can flash and play an alarm, and repeat the alarm until someone acknowledges it. There is no “I did not hear it.” For routines, turn on repeat with a delay: brush teeth, next kid, same timer.
Calm colors, readable screen
Pick a theme that suits the room: a clean white or cream for homework time, a bold color the kids picked themselves for cleanup races.
Try the free web timer full screen for tonight’s homework. The Mac app adds the repeating alarm and the flash.
Homework, screen time, taking turns, getting out the door: put the time where kids can see it, and let the timer be the bad guy.
