Pomodoro timer for Mac: type "pomodoro" and go
Most Pomodoro apps want you to build a system: projects, tags, session logs, streaks. Super Easy Timer takes the other path. Type “pomodoro” and start.
Switch modes by typing
There is no settings maze. Type “pomodoro” in the timer field and the app switches to Pomodoro mode.
- Type “pomodoro” and press Return. A 25 minute focus session starts, labeled “FOCUS · Session 1”.
- Work until the session ends. Breaks follow, and the label counts your sessions for you.
- Want different lengths? Type “pomodoro setup” and a guided setup walks you through the session and break times.
The input autocompletes and keeps your history, so tomorrow you can bring back the same setup without retyping it.
Keep the countdown where you can see it
A Pomodoro only works if you notice it. Pin the timer always on top of your editor, keep it in the menu bar, or shrink it into a corner. The countdown stays in view while you work, even over full screen apps.
One session is about the size of one code review, one draft section, or one inbox pass. Pick the task before you press Return and the timer becomes the deadline for it.
When a session ends, choose how loud the handoff is: an alarm sound, a silent flash of the display, or both. In an open office or on a call, the flash alone marks the break without making a sound.
Repeat without restarting
Focus sessions come in rounds. Turn on repeat with an optional delay and the next block starts on its own. Add a flash or an alarm at zero so the end of a session is impossible to miss.
No system to maintain
No accounts. No charts to feed. No streak to protect. When you are done, close the timer and your work is what you have to show for it.
Want to try the idea first? Run a 25 minute session in the free web timer, then get the Mac app for Pomodoro mode and always on top.
Type “pomodoro”, press Return, and the first session is running.
